自己レスです。
ちょっと直しただけで2.6.22が起動しました。
マニュアルには無保証とありますが、デバッグにあたりJTAG ICEは絶大ですね。
丸一日悩んだのがあっさり１０分程度で解決しました。
まだ、マシンがCirrus Logic EDB9315 Evaluation Boardだったりするので、も
う少し手直しが要りそうです。
