結果も書かずに。失礼しました。
英語に面食らっていました。

TCPのポート25番を直接開く ということで、以下のコマンドをdebianPCで実行しましたがタイムアウトしました。

telnet [SMTPサーバIP] 25

お恥ずかしいですが、この結果がどういうことで、どんな解決方法があるかわかりません。

使用したいSMTPサーバというものは無く、armadilloからメールを投げることが目的です。
