バージョン linux-2.6.12-3-a9-1 のソースを使い、
カーネルのコンフィグレーションにて
Video For Linux と USB Philips Cameras を
組み込んでコンパイルし実行すると
Qcam Pro 4000 を認識しましたよ。

起動ログには、以下のように表示されました。

pwc Logitech QuickCam 4000 Pro USB webcam detected.

pwc Registered as /dev/video0.
